Biography

Dr. Alexandra Michota is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Informatics at the University of Piraeus, Greece. She holds a Ph.D. in Privacy in Online Social Networks, a MSc in Network-Oriented Information Systems and a BSc in Digital Systems from the same University.

Currently she is an Officer in Network and Information Security at the European Union Agency for Network & Information Security (ENISA) working on the areas of EU Cybersecurity Certification and Support the fight against Cybercrime - Collaboration across Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs), Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and other operational communities.

Dr. Alexandra Michota is actively involved in ‘Women in Cyber’ initiatives having as primary objective to change the perception of the cybersecurity domain being a “man’s world”.

Her research interests lie in the areas of information and communication systems security and privacy. She has authored articles in peer reviewed journals and conferences and has participated in funded EU R&D projects in these areas.
