Major General (ret) Erich Staudacher joined the German Armed Forces 1974 and was trained as a Maintenance and Technical Officer of the German Airforce. During his career he entered the wider business of logistics and general staff tasks such as Plans, Policy and Concepts.
He served in combat missions in Italy (Allied Force) and Uzbekistan (International Security Assistance Force). In addition to numerous command assignments from company up to division level, Major General Staudacher served in a variety of senior leadership positions for the German Armed Forces, the German Airforce and the Foreign Service of the Federal Republic of Germany at headquarters, at the MoD, and internationally. In 2016, he retired after 42 years of military service.
As of 01th of January 2017, he assumed the position of General Manager AFCEA Europe and Vice President EMEA of AFCEA International.
Major General Staudacher earned a Masters of Engineering degree in Aeronautical and Space Technology in 1978 as a distinguished graduate from Bundeswehr University, Munich. He also holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from FernUniversität, Hagen. He graduated at the German Armed Force College, Hamburg.
